Simply Slideshow version 1.1.22 is now available to download at CNET. The updates include:

  • Added 2 more slideshow styles: Simple Filled and Simple Fitted
  • Updated UI
  • Bug fixes
  • Optimized for large amount of images

Since most users experience with the older verions prefer the simple slideshow style found in other slideshow software. These updates should satisfy the both group of people with opposite preferences. The simple slideshow works better in “Stay At Bottom” mode because it creates less distraction.

  1. I do trust all of the concepts you’ve presented for your post. They’re really convincing and will certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are too quick for newbies. Could you please extend them a bit from next time? Thank you for the post.

I like your simply slideshow very much. It replaces a very old 16-bit version of AcDsee that doesn’t work anymore on my new 64-bit computer.
I have two suggestions: I miss a button to go one picture back (if I missed one or want to review one); and it would be nice if the show starts up in the same windowsize and at the same place on the screen I ran it the last time. (I like to run it in a corner of my screen).
But thanks anyway, I’m already happy that I found something similar to what I had.

@paul. Glad you like it! Yes, I do like your suggestions. Regarding the back button, I have been wanting to do that for a while just hard to find the time. It is actually harder to do than it seems.. because I want to keep a low memory footprint. Thanks for your comment, don’t forget to check out the latest version @ http://www.dicksonlam.com/2012/05/09/339/

I also think its a good program but that is also a feature that I miss. The only other thing missing is the ability to display the file name… somewhere. So i can find the file.
I know that one seems a little odd. but when you have thousands of pictures and you use them for drawing references (as a hobby), a slide show is the best way i have found to find one. The only other program I have seen do that is my old version of LView Pro and it doesnt work anymore on my new machine.
