I just want to tell you that every time when I try to get a summary report, the app crashes, every single time.
I like the app and I’d like to use it for daily basis but it’s impossible to use it properly. Update coming up soon? I really hope so!

I also think its a good program but that is also a feature that I miss. The only other thing missing is the ability to display the file name… somewhere. So i can find the file.
I know that one seems a little odd. but when you have thousands of pictures and you use them for drawing references (as a hobby), a slide show is the best way i have found to find one. The only other program I have seen do that is my old version of LView Pro and it doesnt work anymore on my new machine.

I had the same thought too, sometimes a long lost picture showing up at my random slide and I want to catch it before it disappeared into the abyss… again.

You are right adding this feature wont clutter screen. I am going to add a button or something during a slideshow (show only when the mouse is moved) to launch the picture location in explorer.

Hey Dickson,
Love it. Really love it.

I know lightweight is the goal and feature creep is to be avoided, but…
how about the ability to doubleclick on the currently showing photo to open a file window with the photo selected?

I leave Simply Slideshow running all the time, and occasionally a photo will appear that is wrongly rotated or which I would love to quickly send to a friend I haven’t seen in awhile.

A quick find like that would not add any clutter to the options or UI, but would be so very helpful!

Just a thought.

@ceess, i think you can set your preferences separately for background and random image options. What you are seeing is probably defaulted selection. Noted the rest of your questions and comments, some of which had been mentioned from other users as well. The only problem is that I don’t have the time to implement them

Surely i would incorporate your suggestions into the next version of simply slideshow.

Your Simple Slide-show is indeed simple and I like it a lot.
There are just three things I do not understand.
Why is the selection window not also the show window?
Why is it not possible to set background without to select Random Image Selection?
Are there no settings for the background image?, now it not always show the image correct.

sorry haven’t check the blog for a while… Yes at the current version the app doesn’t send attachement because of the limitation of the OS. I implemented a receipt picture transfer to work around the issue, once you click on the “transfer” button the pictures go to your phone album and then you can copy them to your PC.

Hi- Just downloaded simplify receipts to my HTC Trophy Windows 7 phone. App looks great but when I select category, take picture of receipt, save and send via email, it sends mail without picture of receipt (or any attachments). Any ideas??

A wonderful bit of software. I’ve been looking for ages for a simple photo viewer with a bit of flair but not all the “bloat” and here it is. As I type I’m listening to a random selection of my music on my new Media Center PC and thanks to you watching a random selection of my photos at the same time. Life couldn’t be sweeter.

I like your simply slideshow very much. It replaces a very old 16-bit version of AcDsee that doesn’t work anymore on my new 64-bit computer.
I have two suggestions: I miss a button to go one picture back (if I missed one or want to review one); and it would be nice if the show starts up in the same windowsize and at the same place on the screen I ran it the last time. (I like to run it in a corner of my screen).
But thanks anyway, I’m already happy that I found something similar to what I had.

@santiago, thanks for your comments! Yes, this is great idea. I had someone also mentioned this to me before to only “slide” when they press a button. Seems like more people are interested in that feature. Also, the “previous” button, this is also on my list of things to implement… Noted, I will try to get it in for the next release, although it will likely be a while before I get the time to put out a new release…

Another thing: Sometimes, when I try dragging a folder into the list, or deleting a folder in the list, an error message appears saying:

nSol.Tools.SlideShow stopped working

Hi there Dickson! I really, really like your slideshow software; it’s simple and the animation effect is very smooth, but there is one thing that is frustrating me.

I’d like to request the implementation of a simple feature for the next release of Simple Slideshow: Could it be possible to add an option so that once the Slideshow starts, it remains STATIC indefinitely, and transitions to the next image ONLY after I hit the right arrow “→” button on my keyboard? Being able to go to the last shown image using the left button “←” would be pretty nice too.

Right now when I press the “→” button it just makes the program exit full screen mode, and makes the blueish “cursor” over the buttons at the bottom to move right.

@chris, yes I have a upcoming version that supports transferring the receipt images to your phone media library which you can extract them via Zune, just like how you would download regular photo to your desktop. This is really just an interim solution until I get the time to do SkyDrive integration which would allow the app to upload actual expense reports organized neatly with the “record” and the “image”.

So wait for the next version (should be out in about a week..). Make sure you don’t throw away your old phone just yet!

Love the Simply Receipts app, but I just changed phones and wanted to get the photos of the receipts off my old phone and sent to me via email.

When I email the receipts to myself, all I get is the ‘record’, and no photo. Is there a way to email/save the photo outside of the app?

@arturo, thanks for your comment! Noted the 2 suggestions. I really like your idea of monitoring the folder for pictures. I actually thought about doing folder monitoring and automatically adding any new pictures to the queue when detected. Adding to your suggestion, instead of ending the slideshow the program would wait for new files and display them as they come in … Make good sense to me! As for the background music I had decided early on not to do music in the app because I can easily launch winamp to do the same thing which will always be more powerful than any feature I am able to add… and it’s free already.

I just would like to suggest 2 things.

1st. Background Music while the Slideshow Plays (having the option to add various musics and when one finishes plays the next and so on while the slideshow plays) and the option to “Continue playing even if the slideshow finishes”.

2.-Another thing I have not found yet, is that the program could monitor the last picture and Display it, I mean if the program find the last picture it stops right there waiting for the next picture.

If I turn off the option “Repeat Slideshow when Finished” another option can be “Monitor folder and show last picture”.

That would be awesome when you have a party, taking pictures and displaying them on a TV sending the pictures from the camera to the Computer.

@elias, those are great ideas! Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to loop images in non-random mode, but certainly something I have been looking into adding in the next release. The black screen issue is likely a bug, I notice that the screen would go black in some cases if you pause and resume the slideshow. Otherwise, it hasn’t happen to me yet if you just let it run without interruption.

If I understand your last question correctly, you want to add more files/folders during the slideshow? Yeah.. there is a problem right now with that… it will end your slideshow if you change the list of files and folders.

I’m using Simply Slideshow and it works great. Is there a way to loop continuously through the images without using the repeat random image option until you quit the slideshow? I only use 2-4 slides, but they are shown all day on a screen.
If I use the ‘Repeat Random Image’ option, it seems to show randomly a black screen for the same duration as the other images.
Also, if a picture is added to the folder been used; is there a way to show that image in the current slideshow without the need to close and restart the slideshow?

@pepa, try uninstall and reinstall v1.1.22. You shouldn’t have to do that but just in case. Anyhow, I’ve never had a crash since the upgrade and so is my friends. If it’s still crashing drop me an email with a screenshot.

@joel, subfolders are automatically included when you specify a folder path. The Intelligent Feature matches the image and screen resolution in random mode.

@albert, I can look into going less than 1 per second in future release but having said that the program was meant to be recreational. Sliding too fast defeats the purpose. Why not do it in thumbnail view (Extra Large Icons)in windows explorer to scan through images?
